Green Data Centre in Singapore

The materials used in the data centre at Deutsche Telekom Centre are designed to limit detrimental effects on the environment. For example, blinds that reflect the heat reduce the need for air-conditioning. Within the data centre, advanced power supply units that emit substantially less heat and other pollutants than traditional units during operation are installed. The water-based CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units installed are designed to cool the servers rather than the data centre itself. Apart from saving significant amounts of power and therewith reducing the carbon footprint of the facility, this eliminates the need for environmentally harmful refrigerants.
