Siemens Enterprise Communications and T-Systems now speak with one voice

May 12, 2010

  • Global partnership for enterprise customers
  • Model for advanced voice and data services via the Internet
  • "Voice as a Service" continues to grow in importance
Two premier providers of Unified Communications solutions, Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co. KG (SEN) and T-Systems have agreed to a global agreement to provide key international customers greater cost efficiency with standardized products, best-in-class capabilities, quicker technology rollout and worldwide service.
The demand for integration of all communications media into a uniform application environment such as Unified Communications (UC) is growing fast. Today’s complex data and network environments are typically made up of a host of proprietary and specialized components from a variety of vendors since the individual vendors usually do not offer all the elements needed for a complete UC solution. This new agreement will let Siemens Enterprise Communications and T-Systems simplify the migration to this technology for their customers.
"In addition to software, data center services and storage capacity, we are now also offering more and more customers Voice as a Service via the Internet," said Reinhard Clemens, member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom and CEO of T-Systems. "In SEN we have found a reliable partner so that our customers can leave the age of proprietary telephone systems and get the highest level of service quality in telephony with Internet-based technologies."
"T-Systems is leveraging the integration of our Open Communications solutions to the benefit of the enterprise customers and can thus offer them greater functionality and maximum flexibility while helping them reduce costs," commented Hamid Akhavan, CEO of Siemens Enterprise Communications. "While T-Systems provides the network and data centers, SEN supplies the layers needed for the seamless integration of voice and Unified Communications in the data network environment. The partnership with T-Systems
is one more confirmation of our market-leading solutions for voice and UC and of our joint commitment to helping our customers achieve their current business goals and preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow."
Many T-Systems customers are already using Unified Communications solutions from Siemens Enterprise Communications. The most recent joint win is the major order from the energy powerhouse BP.
