SAP and T-Systems agree on transaction

October 02, 2009

Deutsche Telekom's corporate customers arm, T-Systems, and SAP have entered into an agreement for T-Systems to acquire SAP’s European external hosting customer base.
As a result of this transaction, T-Systems will assume the hosting support for SAP software applications at nearly 90 SAP customers. The transaction will not involve any transfer of staff or fixed assets. T-Systems sees the acquisition of SAP’s external hosting business as an opportunity to generate continued global growth and to strengthen its position as a leading provider of IT-Services via the Internet.
SAP-Service by a certified partner
"I am pleased that our certified hosting partner, T-Systems, will deliver external hosting services for SAP hosting customers. T-Systems has an outstanding reputation in delivering quality, cost-effective service," said Dr. Wolfgang Krips, Senior Vice President SAP Managed Services. "Even though there will be a transition to a new provider, I am confident that customers will find the gradual transition to T-Systems to be smooth and very manageable so that they may continue to focus on their IT agendas." Multinational groups such as Shell, MAN and Linde procure their SAP applications on demand over the T-Systems network in Munich.
