T-Systems Singapore collaborates with Gentle Fund Organisation to kick off its first overseas community project

Singapore, May 27, 2009

T-Systems Singapore has embarked on its first overseas Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project in Vietnam by sponsoring five Vietnamese children in collaboration with the Gentle Fund Organisation (GFO), a non-profit organisation set up by the Vietnamese community in Singapore.
As part of GFO’s “Be a Guardian“ program, T-Systems Singapore has sponsored the education for five children at a new GFO learning centre in Hue City, Vietnam. The sponsorship, which covers the children’s education at the learning centre, aims to help provide the children with long-term education support, giving them the opportunity to learn and work towards a brighter future.
Uwe Schlager, Managing Director, T-Systems Singapore, recently visited the learning center and met with the children benefitting from the sponsorship. “We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the education of these children and hopefully the program can equip them with the right skills for better prospects in the future and build a better life for themselves and their families.”
Uwe added, “As much as we strive to provide our customers with premium services and solutions, we hope to make a positive impact on the communities that we work with by being a responsible corporate citizen.”
T-Systems in Singapore has previously organized activities for the local community including a Volunteer Day Program with Club Rainbow and an Adopt-a-Gift Campaign where staff contributed gifts to the children of Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home and organized shows and games at the event.
